Born in Boston, Massachusetts and transplanted to Portland, Oregon in high school, Gary began a career as a firefighter and paramedic. This enticed him to further a career in medicine. Gary graduated physician assistant school from The University of Washington in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science, graduating Phi Theta Kappa and earned his M.A. in adult education from The University of Phoenix. Gary was also a PH.D. candidate at Capella University.
Gary and his wife of 20 years have 7 children (5 girls and 2 boys). Gary is a published artist. His many hobbies include philanthropy, singing, acting and golf.
Gary lives by a motto, borrowed from Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can do it!”
