Steck Medical Clinic announces new Chief Administrative Officer.

As physician groups and health systems continue to consolidate, navigating a sustainable route to clinical and operational alignment has become more complex.   The owners of Steck Medical have acknowledged the skills needed to lead their health care practice through cultural and operational change will require a leader with the ability to think innovatively and be open to greater clinical coordination along with health care’s business model.

On August 8th, 2019, Dr Miller and Dr Fritz named Hugo de Oliveira, ARNP the new Chief Administrative Officer.  With Steck only 7 years from celebrating their 100th anniversary, they made the decision to secure the new generation of leadership in our iconic, community-centered clinic. Stecks primary focus is on the best interest of their patients.  Along with Mr. de Oliveira’s leadership and the continued perseverance from Stecks exceptional team of providers and staff, Steck Medical Group will continue to provide the health care community quality of care through the next 10 years and beyond.

Mr. de Oliveira arrived to Steck last spring on April 2018 and has been serving on our staff as a primary care and urgent care provider. In the past, Mr. de Oliveira was a small business manager, relief manager, and house recovery manager for various breweries in England He also managed businesses in Portugal and startup business in Mykonos, Greece.

Mr. de Oliveira moved to the United States in 2001 and began his education in healthcare. After earning his RN from Bellingham Technical College, he moved to Yakima where he worked 7 years in a busy Emergency Department. Mr. de Oliveira was then offered and accepted a position as Emergency Department Director at Sunnyside Community Hospital. Knowing, that he wanted to further his education in healthcare, he went on to earn his bachelors and master’s degrees through Gonzaga University. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Mr. de Oliveira has had a successful career in primary and urgent care.

Our administrative team is extremely confident that  Mr. de Oliveira is very driven and dedicated to ensuring Stecks continued success in our community. It’s his intention to make a career at Steck and help the clinic modernize and prepare for the next step in this clinic’s long and rich history in the community. While taking on these added responsibilities, Mr. de Oliveira will continue care for his primary care patients with rotations through our Woodland Urgent Care.
